About
Growing up with a brother with Sensory Processing Disorder, Ashlyn has always had a passion for individuals whose brains work differently than hers. It is her love for music and the brain that led her to start Pathways Music Therapy. While clinically and neurologically informed, Ashlyn puts the individual first, seeking to empower growth and dignity through music.
Ashlyn is a board-certified music therapist. She completed her bachelor's degree in Music Therapy at Belmont University and obtained her clinical hours from Perfect Harmony Health in Roswell, GA. Through her education, Ashlyn had the opportunity to work alongside all ages and diagnoses, including IDD, cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, ADHD, Tourette's syndrome, TBI, early development, Parkinson's disease, and memory care. These experiences led to opportunities like forming an interabled band that toured the community or putting on a full-scale musical with adults with IDD. They also allowed Ashlyn the chance to use music in various ways to support clients with developmental progress, memory care, social skills, motor skills, speech/communication skills, cognition, and sensory regulation.
Outside of music therapy, Ashlyn enjoys cross-stitching, listening to musicals, trying new restaurants/coffee shops, and winding down with a good book.

Questions
Nope! Music therapy is for anyone who enjoys music. Ashlyn meets each client wherever they are, whether they have never touched an instrument or they've been playing their whole life.
You do not! Ashlyn will provide (and clean) all instruments required for both individual and group music therapy sessions.* However, if there is an instrument from home that you would like to incorporate into sessions, that is welcome. *We are unable to provide instruments for virtual sessions and most instrumental lessons.
Ashlyn primarily sees clients in person at her office located in Brentwood, TN. However, Ashlyn is also able to travel to homes and community centers across Middle Tennessee to provide services. Virtual sessions are another potential option, depending on the client's needs.
Sessions occur weekly and typically last 30 minutes or 1 hour depending on the client.
Rates are shared on the consult call so they can be matched to your individual service needs. Music therapy is not covered by insurance, however some policies have out-of-network (OON) benefits that can provide some support. These benefits often vary between insurance companies.
